dua for breaking fast

Fasting is the fourth of the five pillars of Islam. as Allah said,” O you who have believed, decreed upon you is fasting as it was decreed upon those before you that you may become righteous.”

dua for breaking fast

Recite a dua before having Iftar meals:

اللَّهُمَّ اِنِّى لَكَ صُمْتُ وَبِكَ امنْتُ وَعَليْكَ تَوَكّلتُ وَ عَلى رِزْقِكَ اَفْطَرْتُ

Allahumma inni laka sumtu wa bika aamantu wa alayka tawakkaltu wa ala rizq-ika-aftartu

O, Allah! I fasted for You, and I believe in You, and I put my trust in You, and I break my fast with Your sustenance.

Or you can also recite the following dua

ذهب الظَّمأ، وابتلَّت العروق، وثبت الأجرُ إن شاء الله

Dhaba ADH-Dhama’ wabtallatil-urooq wa thabatal-ajr insha’Allah

Thirst has gone, the arteries are moist, and the reward is sure if Allah wills.

(Abu Dawud)

Dua for Keeping the Fast (at Suhoor)

وَبِصَوْمِ غَدٍ نَّوَيْتُ مِنْ شَهْرِ رَمَضَانَ

Wa bisawmi ghadinn nawaiytu min shahri Ramadan.

I intend to keep the fast for tomorrow in the month of Ramadan

Suhoor is the meal consumed early in the morning before fasting According to a hadith suhoor meal is a blessing and also sunnah as in the hadith قَالَ النَّبِيُّ صلى الله عليه وسلم ‏ “‏ تَسَحَّرُوا فَإِنَّ فِي السَّحُورِ بَرَكَةً ‏ The Prophet ﷺ said, “Take Suhur as there is a blessing in it.” {Sahih al-Bukhari}

Allah knows better.
