Surah An-Nas
Surah An-Nas, the final chapter of the Quran, reminds us to seek refuge in Allah, protecting ourselves from Satan’s whispers and our own evil inclinations.
بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ
Bismillahir-Rahmanir-Rahim
Translation: In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
قُلْ أَعُوذُ بِرَبِّ النَّاسِ
Qul a’udhu birabbin-nas
Translation: Say: “I seek refuge with (Allah), the Lord of mankind,
مَلِكِ النَّاسِ
Malikin-nas Translation: The Sovereign of mankind,
إِلَٰهِ النَّاسِ
Ilahin-nas Translation: The God of mankind,
مِنْ شَرِّ الْوَسْوَاسِ الْخَنَّاسِ
Min sharril-waswasil-khannas
Translation: From the evil of the whisperer (devil who whispers evil in the hearts of men) who withdraws (from his whispering in one’s heart after one remembers Allah),
الَّذِي يُوَسْوِسُ فِي صُدُورِ النَّاسِ
Alladhi yuwaswisu fi sudoorin-nas
Translation: Who whispers in the breasts of mankind,
مِنَ الْجِنَّةِ وَالنَّاسِ
Minal-jinnati wan-nas
Translation: Of jinn and men.
Surah An-Nas teaches us to seek Allah’s protection from evil. We recite it to find refuge from Satan’s whispers and harmful desires. May Allah grant us wisdom and comfort in His care.
