Feel Surah (سورة الفيل)

Feel Surah English Translation

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
Have you not considered how your Lord dealt with the companions of the elephant?
Did He not make their plan into misguidance?
And He sent against them birds in flocks,
Striking them with stones of hard clay,
And He made them like eaten straw.

Story of Feel Surah

The Surah recounts the historical event known as the “Year of the Elephant,” which took place in Makkah. According to historical accounts, Abraha, the Abyssinian ruler of Yemen, led an army with the intention of destroying the Kaaba, the sacred house of Allah. He had a mighty elephant named Mahmud in his army, which was considered a powerful war asset at the time.

However, Allah’s intervention protected the Kaaba and the people of Makkah. As the army approached, Allah sent a flock of birds, carrying small stones in their beaks and talons. These stones were like missiles that struck the invading army, causing great devastation and humiliation. The elephants were powerless against this divine intervention, and Abraha’s plans were completely thwarted.

Allah Knows Better.
