اللَّهُ لاَ إِلَهَ إِلاَّ هُوَ الْحَيُّ الْقَيُّومُ
Allahu la illaha illa hu Wal Hayyul Qayyum
·لاَ تَأْخُذُهُ سِنَةٌ وَلاَ نَوْمٌ·
La te huzuhu sinetun wala nawmun
لَهُ مَا فِي السَّمَاوَاتِ وَمَا فِي الأَرْضِ ·
Lahu ma fissemawati wa ma fil’ardi
مَنْ ذَا الَّذِي يَشْفَعُ عِنْدَهُ إِلاَّ بِإِذْنِهِ·
Men thallathiy yeshfe’u indehu illa biznih
يَعْلَمُ مَا بَيْنَ أَيْدِيهِمْ وَمَا خَلْفَهُمْ ·
a’lemu ma beyne eydiyhim wa ma halfehum
وَلاَ يُحِيطُونَ بِشَيْءٍ مِنْ عِلْمِهِ إِلاَّ بِمَا شَاءَ·
wa la yuhiytune bishey’in min ilmihi illa bima sha-a
وَسِعَ كُرْسِيُّهُ السَّمَاواتِ وَالأَرْضَ ·
wasia kursiyyuhu semavati wal’ard
وَلاَ يَئُودُهُ حِفْظُهُمَا وَهُوَ الْعَلِيُّ الْعَظِيمُ
a la yeuduhu hifzuhuma wa hu wal aliy ul aziym
Ayatul Kursi English translation
“Allah! There is no god but he – the Living, The self-subsisting, Eternal. No slumber can seize Him Nor Sleep. His are all things In the heavens and on earth. Who is there can intercede In His presence except As he Permitted? He knoweth What Before or After or Behind them. Nor shall they encompass Aught of his knowledge Except as He willeth. His throne doth extend Over the heavens And on earth, and He feeleth No fatigue in guarding And preserving them, For He is the Highest, the Greatest.
Ayatul Kursi Importance
Narrated Abu Huraira: Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ) called me to protect the Zakat revenue of Ramadan. Then someone came to me and began stealing from the foodstuff. I caught him and said, “I will bring you to Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ)!” Then Abu Huraira explained the whole narration and said: That person said (to me), “(Please don’t take me to Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ) and I will advise you a few words by which Allah will benefit you.) When you move to your bed, recite Ayat-al-Kursi, (2.255) for then there will be a shield from Allah who will guard you all night long, and Satan will not be capable to come near you till morning.” (When the Prophet (ﷺ) listened to the story) he said (to me), “He (who came to you at night) told you the truth although he is a liar; and it was Satan.”
