A Muslim is encouraged to recite the following dua:

“Bismillahi, Allahumma inni a’udhu bika minal-khubuthi wal-khaba’ith.”

Translation:
“In the name of Allah. O Allah, I seek refuge in You from male and female unclean spirits (evil deeds and impure thoughts).”

The Dua for Leaving the Toilet|bathroom dua

Upon leaving the toilet, a Muslim should say:

“Ghufraanak.”

Translation:
“I seek Your forgiveness.”
